Gary Rabine, Owner

Gary has enjoyed competing his whole life. From ping pong, billiards, football, wrestling and baseball in his high school years, to basketball, golf, tennis, ping pong and billiards today, his competitive drive of over 28 years has transformed Rabine Paving from a small local driveway company in 1981 to one of our nation’s best pavers. His passion continues to fuel our team at Rabine Paving America. He is always striving to be the best, most progressive and innovative company in our industry. Gary is also a person focused on his family and routinely spends quality time with his wife and four kids. With three of four in college, and the youngest in 3rd grade, Gary puts great value on time with his family whether it is vacationing, coaching, water sports, snow skiing, or dinner and a movie with his awesome wife Cheryl. Gary believes life is short and family should come first. Gary is also a huge Chicago Bears and White Sox fan. Many of his fondest memories occurred at sporting events with his family and friends. Gary believes that if you love what you do for a living, you will never work a day in your life.
                             

Mike Johnson, President of Rabine Group

Mike has a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Illinois and has enjoyed a career in the utility and paving industries that spans over 20 years. Most of his career has been in upper level management in the operations side of the business. Mike loves the never ending challenges that arise as our business continues to lead the industry by providing value added services and cost effective solutions for our customers. He believes that a process driven organization with a commitment to safety, quality, team member education and development, and cutting edge technology in equipment and information systems, will be successful by exceeding customer expectations. Mike and his wife Allison have a wonderful family with five children. The Johnsons enjoy boating, fishing, baseball, basketball and ice skating. For Mike, life in the Johnson home is similar to life at Rabine Paving America: fun, fast paced, and exciting!

Dan Kissee, National Business Development Manager

Dan Kissee is a paving industry professional and former business partner of owner, Gary Rabine. Dan served for 20 years as an Air Traffic Controller at O’Hare International Airport where he spent 15 of those years as a first level supervisor in Management. He now serves in the capacity to establish organizational structure, facilitate process management and develop business initiatives within the Rabine Group.
Dan and his wife Barbara have two children Ben and Grace, in college at Southern Illinois University, and a yellow lab named Goose. Dan enjoys boating, fishing, golf, chess and traveling.

Ryan Laughlin, Vice President of Engineering

Ryan has been with Rabine Paving America for over 12 years and has worked as an estimator, project manager, superintendent and operations supervisor. He currently is the Vice President of Engineering and he monitors and manages all of the estimators and project managers on a daily basis. Ryan is married and has a one-year-old son, Connor. In his spare time he enjoys competitive sporting events, playing with his dog and reading books.

Dale Shea, National Operations Manager

Dale graduated from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale with a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management. Dale has spent the last 20 years in real estate development and construction, as both principal and general contractor.  His experience in project management and business development helps to bring all the talent of Rabine Paving America together in becoming the premier National Paving Company in North America today.  Dale is married with three children, enjoys weekends with his family, and is active in running and biking clubs.

Brian Blackowicz, National Pavement Engineer

Brian is a recent graduate at the top of his class of the University of Iowa with a degree in Civil Engineering and an emphasis on pavement design and construction. He participated in the internship program at Rabine Paving for three years while in school and has become a senior member of the Rabine Paving America team since joining the company full time early this year. In his spare time, Brian enjoys any and all sports, whether playing them or just watching.

Bill Devoy, Regional Project Engineer

Bill has been with Rabine Paving for over five years and in the industry for seven. He has been a part of the estimating and project management team for the duration. Bill estimates all types of projects but focuses primarily on parking lot maintenance.
He grew up in Johnsburg, IL where he graduated from Johnsburg High School, after which he attended and graduated from Northern Illinois University. In his spare time he helps out with coaching football and taking rides on his motorcycle.

John Butler, Regional Project Engineer

John has a combined 25 years in the asphalt paving, maintenance and construction business. In 2000, John and Gary Rabine joined forces to create Pavement Solutions LLC. Pavement Solutions is a full service pavement maintenance company that specializes in sealcoating, crack sealing and pavement markings.
In his spare time, John enjoys spending time snowmobiling and boating with his wife Marty and three teenage boys.

Mike Madsen, Regional Project Engineer

Mike joined the Rabine Group in April of 2006. He graduated from Winona State University in Winona, MN, where he was a member of the WSU football team. Mike spent his first season with Rabine Residential estimating driveways, and progressed rapidly into the commercial arena with his aptitude for the industry. Mike’s focus is now entirely on working with the commercial estimating and project management team.
In his spare time, he enjoys watching and participating in sports and spending time with his wife Katie and their son Jaxon.

Steve White, Regional Project Engineer

Steve has been working for the past 15 years in the asphalt and concrete paving and maintenance industry. He has worked in many facets of the business starting as a foreman and moving onto project management, scheduling, sales, marketing, and management of all pavement types. With his comprehensive background, Steve has vast experience working with customers and their key employees whether the project is in the bidding, planning, or production phase. His experience in the maintenance field affords him the ability to assist customers in budgeting and prioritizing the demands and needs of their pavements, whether asphalt or concrete. Steve is constantly striving to improve processes in planning and production to provide the best possible product for all Rabine Group customers. Steve is married and has two teenage children. In his free time he enjoys watching his children participate in sports and is involved in many civic and school related causes.

Mike Jereb, National Sales Engineer

Michael Jereb is a paving industry professional and former paving company owner. He has over 27 years’ experience in all phases of the paving industry including asphalt, concrete, sewer & water, decorative paving, estimating, scheduling, customer service and project management. Commercial property and corporate accounts are Michael’s specialty that he brings to Rabine Paving America.   
Michael is married to his wife Sue of 23 years and has four children and three grandchildren. When not working, he spends his free time coaching high school basketball, playing golf, motorcycle ridding, and following his son Jordan’s baseball career as pitcher for Fontbonne University in St Louis.
